Honey I'm Home | Screenplay
1 INT. MICHAELA’S LIVING ROOM. DAY.
MICHAELA and JANIE sit on Michaela’s living room coach and laugh dramatically.
JANIE
I can’t believe we finally get to hang out!
MICHAELA
I know! You are so busy all the time!
Janie looks around the place.
JANIE
This is quite a nice place you got here.
MICHAELA
Yeah, I live here with my boyfriend.
JANIE
Oh! Tell me the deets!
Michaela laughs.
MICHAELA
Well, we started living together around 3
months ago. He was looking for a place to stay
and since I live alone, we decided to move in
together to minimize our expenses.
JANIE
Ahh, that is always a smart idea.
Janie looks around.
JANIE (CONT’D)
How come there aren’t any pictures of you
two together?
MICHAELA
Well, we have only been dating for 6 months so
it would be odd if we put out pictures around
the house and make our guests blind.
JANIE
Fair enough, fair enough.
Janie laughs.
JANIE
You know, we always suspected you will be the
first to get married, so this is a good call.
MICHAELA
Why, thank you.
They laugh and stop laughing quickly.
MICHAELA (CONT’D)
So, what’s up with you?
JANIE
Well, I have also been seeing someone.
MICHAELA
Oh really?!
JANIE
Yes.
MICHAELA
Well in our friend group, we suspected you
would be the last to be in a relationship, so
this is a good call.
JANIE
Why, I’ll take that as a compliment of my high
standards.
They laugh.
MICHAELA
So, the guy?
JANIE
We have been dating for 4 months. Not moving in
or anything, because he lives with his parents.
But he comes to my place quite often, since I
live alone.
MICHAELA
Living alone always has its perks, doesn’t it?
Someone opens the door.
JANIE AND MICHAELA
Honey, how come you are here (JANIE)/home
(MICHAELA)?
Janie and Michaela look at each other.
JANIE
Oh no, you didn’t.
It looks like they are about to have a fight, but Michaela turns to the person at the door and literally kicks him out, as we see a shadow falls by the door, follow by a faint scream and disappears.
Janie takes her things and gives Michaela a hug.
JANIE
Do you need help with throwing all his stuff
out?
MICHAELA
No, I can manage.
JANIE
We all knew you are a strong woman.
MICHAELA
How about you?
JANIE
Me? Pff, you guys all thought I will be the
last to be in a relationship anyways, so what’s
the rush?
They laugh, stop and get back to what they were doing.
