The Fight

“I don’t know if I can trust you anymore!” Naka yelled and put her hands over her eyes. “I am sorry, Naka, I really am,” Louis shook his head. “You keep doing this, over and over. It is hurting me, and this family,” Naka cried. “I am trying, I really am.” “You are not trying hard enough, apparently. How much attention do you need to pay? How much care do I need to give?” “Naka, I love…” “Me? Really? Well, that explains why you keep doing that.” “I am not good enough sometimes! Okay?” “Yes! I know. And maybe, I am not good enough as well, since I chose to be with you.” Louis started sobbing, “Naka, I am sorry. I don’t know how many times I need to say that….” “It is not the saying. It is the doing .” “I will do it.” “You say that, but how do I know you will?” “You can only rely on time to tell,” Louis said. Naka sighed and sat down, “I really don’t know.” “Just tell me what to do,” Louis kneeled in front of her and held her hand. “You know what to do. Or

Escaping from Nothing | Chapter 4: Another Day

To be honest, I never really knew our daily schedule. I mean, I did arrange the time slots and venues for us to go to, and I was almost the secretary for my supervisor. But I could never remember what we have on the day, until my calendar reminds me, and I have to remind myself and my supervisor. We were never late for events. Maybe me being picky about punctuality made me a considerable trainee. Well, that is according to my supervisor. We loaded the equipment onto the track and my supervisor started to drive there. Our company is small but respectable, and our reputation is overall pretty good. We arrived at the venue, which was an outdoor area. I unloaded the truck by myself and my supervisor went through to check the venue’s lighting to see what we need. “Daryl, I think we only need these ones. You can put the rest back,” he said, pointing and looking at me. I moaned a bit and put the rest back in the truck. My supervisor walked to the shooting area. I carried the lig

Blue to Red

Day 7. “This is such a series of serendipity,” Crystal said to her sister, Kayce, as she hosed down the lawn with a gas mask on. Kayce looked ahead with a P2 mask on. The sky that was once brown, is now red. “When will this end?” Day 6. Kayce and Crystal sat in their coastal family house while listening to the radio. “Let’s leave our yellow bins out.” Day 5. The sky started to darken. Jackson, their neighbour, quickly took Arthur, Crystal’s son, and Millie, their family dog, in his car. “Please let us know when you guys are safe, yeah? Our boys are in safer towns and I told them you are coming,” Kayce said. “Yeah, of course. Don’t worry, I’ll keep them safe,” Jackson gave them a thumbs up, “Please be safe as well.” “We’ll try,” Kayce tried to force a smile. Crystal was sobbing hard as she kissed Arthur goodbye and watched Jackson drive them away. Day 4. The smoke turned the sky from blue to brown. Kayce watched closely at the TV. “We are now in a watch and

Escaping from Nothing | Chapter 3: Unknown

Down at the bar, I looked very lonely compared to the hot sweaty people surrounding me. Being and not engaging with the crowd comforts me, especially after I literally saw someone from a nightmare. Soon after, a figure approached me. I could not see clearly because I took off my glasses. I did not really need them then, and not having them on my nose keeps it safe from people around me who might bump into me at any moment. I looked up to see a familiar looking face approaching me. It was a Monday, so maybe I should not go down to a bar for a drink. I put on my glasses and looked at my wristwatch to check the time, just to make sure I was not there at an inappropriate hour. It was 8pm. “Daryl! What are you doing here, all alone?” The man who approached me, said. I finally recognised the voice and the face. He was Laver, my university classmate. “Oh, I just came here to clear my mind,” I smiled. He was a nice guy. His girlfriend was my best friend back when we were in unive

Things Weren't Meant to Turn Out Like This

Things got a bit out of hand, I’ll admit. It was a night with a crescent moon up high. There were 11 roses on that hedge, as I counted with excitement. I took out my hedge shears, when Ella scared me from the back. “BOO!” “Woah! Ella! I am holding sharp scissors!” Ella noticed them, “Oh no! I am sorry! I didn’t see that!” “It is alright,” I ushered Ella away from me and left the shears under the hedge. “Do you reckon it will be safe here?” Ella asked. “Yeah, and I’ll have to trim the hedge later anyways,” I said, and followed Ella back inside the house. While we were having dinner, I saw a shadow in the corner of my eye, near the rose hedge. “What was that?” “Probably a spider on the window sill,” Ella said. “What?” I am terrified of spiders. “I am sure that web is abandoned, Sylvie. Ella, quit scaring her, she is your older sister,” my mum said. Ella stuck out her tongue at me. “I swear there was someone outside the window,” I shivered. Mum opened the door

Escaping from Nothing | Chapter 2: The Man

He was panting and catching his breath as he walked towards the people, saying apologetically, “I am so sorry. The traffic, I…” The director cut him off, “Just get changed and get in position.” He immediately ran to the changing room and came back quickly, modelling for the shoot. He was the lion for the shoot. The makeup artist quickly stood up to put on his makeup as she wiped the sweat off his face. “You are so screwed,” I saw her lips moving and whispering to him. “I am sorry,” he said back. I could not take my eyes off him. But then, he was probably too rushed and flushed to notice a girl sitting in a dark corner next to a bright light. He then joined the other models for the shoot. He did not seem as bored as the other models. Maybe because he was late, he wanted to make up for it. “Give me some energy, people!” The director screamed. The models struggled a bit but continued to be in their slightly annoyed mood. The man who arrived late, tried his best to impres

Escaping from Nothing | Chapter 1: The Run

I felt myself running. I was running on a highway with no visible end, just the horizon. I kept running and felt my legs start to fail me. I started feeling the ache and sore creeping up, and my heart beating so loudly that I felt it trembling. However, I could not stop. I was running away. I was running away from something, something unknown. I turned around and saw nothing. Nonetheless, the trail of terror was visible in my muscles and I could not help but keep running and running… Suddenly, a car emerged from my right side, sounded their horn and hit me hard. I could feel it. The pain hit like someone hammered my arm. Hard and solid, I felt it from my right arm, then my right shoulder, then my right leg, then the right side of my head… then it spread to my whole body, consuming me, while blood dripped down my body. I was forced to lie down from the hit, as the driver stopped the car and ran over to my slowly fading body. He had a straight and cold face, stari

Me (About Wintsarye)

Nothing’s worse than looking at a piece of blank paper and can’t think of anything other than “This is a piece of blank paper”. Seriously! I’m not a joker. But if I made you laugh, then that will be great for me. You know, smiling can reduce oxidation and make people healthier. My name is Wintsarye (Wint-sa-rie). Yes. Of course, I’m the author of the books, the writer of the screenplays (sometimes I am a co-writer), and the creator of all my characters (unless it is based off existing material). The name is an acronym for "what I need to say, at rounds, years, (and) evenings" (yes the last 4 characters are more or less just to make the whole name sound nice and fancy). I am trying to tell what life is about, and what everything is about. My stories are quite realistic, but sometimes it’s not. I enjoy writing thrillers, horrors, romances and mysteries, but also like to challenge myself to write comedy and other genres. I like to branch out, learn and try a lot of thing
